Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't and of course TD takes it hard when he doesn't.

This week at Tucson TD made the tour round (finals) but didn't make the 8 seconds on his bull.  The good news is he picked up some day money and is still at the top in the point standings

TD is now competing at the Houston Rodeo where he won the Xtreme Bullriding event and is leading the Bull Riding after two rounds.

World champion bull rider picks up Tour win in Rapid City - Press Release from Pro Rodeo Tour

RAPID CITY, .S.D. Feb. 9, 2003  1996 World Champion Bull Rider Terry Don West showed the packed house at the 26th annual Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo that he's still got plenty left in his tank by winning the ProRodeo Tour Round with a 93-point ride.

West, 37, bested longtime friend Myron Duarte, who banged out a 90-point ride just moments before West took center stage at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, voted in 2002 as the top indoor rodeo in the PRCA, is the second stop on the 10-city ProRodeo Tour and will air on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. ET.

West, a two-time NFR qualifier, stuck his winning ride and earned 12 valuable Tour points aboard Kesler's Rambler.

"Myron told me he was a good bull and that I'd really like him," West said. "Myron and I are good friends and go way back, so I just went on his word."

Duarte, runner-up to the world titlist last year, recorded his
90-point ride on Kesler's Shiver & Shake.

Excerpt from weekly news from Prorodeo.com:

Road to the Wrangler NFR: West blazes unprecedented trail to Thomas & Mack
The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is the dream of every rodeo cowboy. The 45th Wrangler NFR, where world champions are annually crowned, is Dec. 5-14 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

While records are made to be broken, bull rider and 1996 world champion Terry Don West of Henryetta, Okla., may make it extremely difficult for one mark to be topped.

Through just half the year, West already has eclipsed the PRCA's single-season mark. The record was previously held by ProRodeo Hall of Famer Tuff Hedeman, who earned $97,791 in 1986. After earning more than $11,000 at the Reno Rodeo, West bumped his annual earnings to an eye-boggling $108,288.
The year is half over.
